USB drive
Allow Benubird Pro to be run as a portable application on a USB drive. Files, database + application files are located on, and can be accessed from, the drive.

Change location of file repository
Add the ability to change the default location for where files are stored. For example, I might want to store the files on an external hard drive or in My documents or some other location.
The file repository location should be variable.

Scan paper documents directly into PDFs.

Link to Files/Folders
I would like to request the option to link to files/folders. Perhaps some shell extensions could be used to monitor managed files and update the database if they are moved or deleted.

Add text search
Add a simple text search to search within documents. This would include .pdf, Word, plain text etc.

Tags
Adding tags to a document by scrolling through a list is cumbersome. You might change the interface by making a full tag list on the left (now only Library) and just 'clickhold, drag and drop' a tag above a document for adding tags. Advanced File Preview
Add an advanced file preview feature that allows users to see previews of a range of image file types and document file types like PDF, XPS, DOC, XLS, PPT, TXT, MHT, HTML and more. This feature would also include a larger preview window.

Allow the creation of multiple independent libraries. This would allow people to have a library for work and a library for personal files.

Auto-delete of files/folders after import/add
It would be nice to to have an option to automatically delete files/folders that were imported using the watched folders feature. Once they are added I delete them anyway, but I have to verify that they were added first before deleting them, which is an annoyance.

Edit file properties directly from the listing
Add the ability to edit file properties directly from the listing by clicking inside of a field to edit (instead of having to right-click and go to Properties)

Choose a collection when adding file
When you add single files you cannot specify a collection. In these kinds of cases it would be nice to have the ability to specify a default collection in which any files can be added to.

Progressive filtering of file properties
You might consider some sort of progressive filtering. In other words, filter for a keyword and see the results. Keep that results set and apply another keyword to narrow the results set. This could also be done with searching.

Edit Library Filters
Add the ability to edit existing Library Filters such as Documents, Spreadsheets, Images, etc. Consider merging Smart Collections and Library Filters.

Selecting the Collections Item should show sub-items also
Selecting the Collection Tree item should show Collection Sub-Items also (show all sub-levels). If you pick a Collection Sub-Item it will show the items in the lower level, but not in the upper levels. This is how most cataloging programs work...

Convert word/powerpoint/excel/access and html pages to PDF format
You just created a word document, but since you can't print it, you will send it to your friend to print it for you.
When he opens it the alignment changes automatically. But if you send a PDF version the file becomes smaller and the alignments won't change.

Export tags to a CSV well when exporting files
When exporting a bunch of files it would be usefull to also export the tags, description, author etc to a CVS file, where each row also have the file name in it. It would help in interaction with other databases.

link relationships
link one item to another items. For example I have the sound track for a presentation and the PDF of the presentation slides but they are two separate items. I would like to be able to indicate a link or dependant relationship between the two.
